  • Liquid carbon dioxide (CO₂) is fed into the working chamber under high pressure.
  • With a sharp decrease in pressure, part of the liquid CO₂ evaporates, and the rest turns into “snow” — a crystalline mass with a temperature of -78.5°C.
  • CO₂ snow is compressed in a matrix under high pressure and extruded in the form of cylindrical granules (pellets) - 3 mm or 16 mm in diameter.

When transported over long distances, dry ice is prone to losses due to sublimation. During storage and transportation, dry ice loses not only weight but also quality. Turnkey dry ice production system

To create a new dry ice plant or dry ice machine, the following elements are required:

 

A liquid CO2 storage tank connected to a dry ice machine. More detailed information about the dry ice production process and tanks can be discussed individually according to your needs and capabilities.

 

A granulator (pelletizer) for dry ice production of the appropriate model.

 

Dry ice containers so that the granules are well stored, transported and remain fresh for a long time. We offer our customers the opportunity to purchase large-volume dry ice containers (minimum 2 dry ice containers, since when one is full, the other can be used for filling).

 

All dry ice machines TM GNAT® can be supplied with different extrusion dies. Dry ice granules with sizes from 2 mm to 19 mm are used for dry ice cleaning.
